YOU CAN save money in uni

I’m sure most of you hear about how tough it is to manage your expenses in university. There are lots of social events that requires us to fork out money from our tight budget. We are constantly invited to fun events such as attending our friend's’ 21st birthday party, gathering and supper etc. So how can we make sure that we can manage our budget well and enjoy ourselves at the same time? Here are some tips that you can try! Firstly, make sure that you only purchase the textbook that is required by your Professors. If you only need it for certain week, you can always borrow from the library instead of purchasing it! Also, do look out for second hand sales of textbook by your faculty’s club or student union. They are usually in great conditions and since you will only need to use for one semester, it is really quite a good deal. However, do check out the edition of the book before purchasing as some may not be used by your Professors anymore. Secondly, limit eating out. Dining out can be expensive and cooking your meals can really help you to save a lot. If you are staying in hall, gather some of your hall mates and cook a meal together instead. This can add in lots of fun for you to bond with your friends too! You should also stock up the fridge with snacks and drink bought from grocery stores rather than purchasing it from vending machine or convenience stores as they are more pricey. Lastly, you can earn extra cash by signing up as a participant for school’s experimental survey. This is a very good opportunity for you to earn some extra money in between lesson break. They are usually only 15 to 30 minutes and you will be paid in cash on the spot. Do you all have more tips and hacks to save up in uni? Let us know!
